Notes
I really don't know the exact lineage but they were drawn from the multitracks. All I know is these were dubs from Jerry's own reels back in early 1979. They were probably "work tapes" for the film soundtrack. I'm convinced these have not seen the light of day until now. Reason being at the time(late 70's) the circulating sources for this run of shows was drawn from cassettes via Rob Bertrando so when Will Boswell dubbed these everyone already had them in pretty good quality and keep in mind this was before tape trading was organized to the point that one could "pick and choose" the way it is now. Besides, Wilson was starting up a family during that period so as every father knows, things have to take a back seat for a period of time in order to raise kids so they sat in his workshop until I borrowed them around 2007 . If you want a version that "puts you there", these are it as the reel sources for this run of shows are incredibly clean with nice bottom and fairly rich highs esp. the 24/96 version.. Just hear the "warm" tone of Jerry's guitar during 'Morning Dew' and you'll soon realize how nice these really are!!

I prefer the lighter mellower sound of just the regular rotation tunes they played on this run without NED.
But make no mistake the intensity level is way up for this - Seastones > Dark Star > Dew-
You can't out 'space' Garcia!!!
Subject: wow tops 4 sound quality , easytopten ever, "reely"

52 out of 5 stars for the hell of it. For you Evan
Subject: Shines Thru The Rains
And this presentation suits my fancy big time.
That night had amusing sonic and technical difficulties -- such as previously stated on my reviews of this show on Archives.org.
The Phil & Ned is oh so supreme and the rest you get sublime.
Might consider this show one of the most supreme from on high.
Ahh, Somehow this show always shines thru the reigns.
And this GEM reveals the true sanctity:
Such the Remnant of our clingingest belief.
Relief.
Still, tonite, one of the greatest shows i have ever heard.
52 out of 5 Stars.
